Album

Bell Orchestre is a six-piece instrumental band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. In late 2003, they recorded their first album, at the same time and in the same studio that Arcade Fire recorded Funeral. However, Arcade Fire's popularity was just beginning to break when they asked Bell Orchestre to tour with them in the fall of 2005, delaying the release of their album. Regarding finishing the album, Bell Orchestre said: We regrouped and we did this residency at an arts center in Canada in the mountains. Who Designs Nature's How, EP, released on August 25, 2009. So does Who Designs Nature's How mean Bell Orchestre is a real band and not just an Arcade Fire side project Hold the emails it's a rhetorical question. Bell Orchestre enlisted a credible lineup of mostly established electronic artists and studio wizards, including Tim Hecker, Mad Professor, Kid Koala, and Hôtel-de-Ville's Rhett Brewer, to rework the analog-recorded by Tortoise's John McEntire source material. Not surprisingly, none of the remixers embarrass themselves. Kid Koala, for example, strips some of the richer string and woodwind arrangements from IciclesBicycles and foregrounds a single plucked string tone, to hypnotic effect. by Bell Orchestre.
