Cat's Eyes is the self-titled debut album by London-based alternative pop duo Cat's Eyes, released on April 11, 2011 on the Polydor record label. The album featured the songs Cat's Eyes and The Best Person I Know, which previously appeared on the group's Broken Glass EP, along with eight other tracks including The Lull which the band noted was the first song they wrote for the project. Cat's Eyes are an alternative pop duo formed in early 2011 by vocalist Faris Badwan known for his work with English indie rock band the Horrors and Italian-Canadian soprano, composer and multi-instrumentalist Rachel Zeffira. The band formed after Badwan introduced Zeffira to 1960s girl group music. Cat's Eyes: Cat's Eyes, The Best Person I Know, Sunshine Girls и другие песни. Cat's eyes. Sounding like all the spectral and slightly woooh music of yore, its makers throw in additional elements of Nick Cave gothery, Julee Cruise, early 4AD spook, Italian horror soundtracks and the more otherworldly elements of prime 1960s pop such as Scott Walker and Bobbie Gentry. Face in the Crowd swings through a grainy call-and-response bombast, emphasising the beauty and the beast element that occurs through the duos duets. Completing the set is the delightful I Knew It Was Over, which sounds like Enya down a well, and is simply gorgeous. At just 28 minutes long, Cats Eyes certainly doesnt outstay its welcome. An all-female detective outfit, the Eyes Enquiry Agency, is formed as a front for the Home Office's new security operation the Covert Activities Thames Section or . for short. Initially led by ex-Oxford Union President Pru Standfast Rosalyn Landor, she was followed by experienced ex-cop Maggie Forbes Jill Gascoine who later led the section, computer genius Frederica Fred.
