Well Arthur Rubinstein is for starters incomparable. Secendly i love Chopin. And this set met all my requirements. An excellent recording. Rubinstein presents it so naturally that one can forget the difficulties the shift presents. This is just a sampling of the beautiful playing in this set. I could go on for much longer. But Rubinsteins easygoing charm does imposes a few limitations. Intensity varies: the great C-minor Mazurka Op 503 lacks the passion of certain other interpretations. Some other more serious Mazurkas fare better. The quietly tragic Op 563 Mazurka is done with genuine feeling. Chopin, Fryderyk. 4 Mazurkas, Op. Even though RCA's outstanding recordings from the 1960s of Arthur Rubinstein playing Chopin are the most recommended versions for their exquisite interpretations and superior sound quality, some still turn to his recordings from the 1920s and '30s, which in many cases have the edge for passion and physical strength
