Music video by Electric Light Orchestra performing Rockaria. C 1976 Sony Music Entertainment. Rockaria is a song by Electric Light Orchestra ELO, written by Jeff Lynne. It was the third track on the band's successful 1976 album, A New World Record and was the second single from the album. On some CD pressings of A New World Record, it appears without the exclamation mark. Featuring the operatic voice of Mary Thomas during the introduction, on the first recording take, she mistakenly started the vocals too early. However, Lynne elected to use the take complete with her interjection, Oops. Electric Light Orchestra - Rockaria 1991. To favorites 0 Download album. Listen album. Rock Classic Rock. With Wood playing a cheap Chinese cello, multi-tracked by Lynne, the song sounded to Woods ears like a monster heavy metal orchestra. 10538 Overture became the new groups mission statement, the opening fanfare on a debut album described by Melody Maker as a gas. Loftily subtitled A Symphony By The Electric Light Orchestra, the groups fourth album is described by Lynne as one of yer actual concept albums. The concept itself was somewhat vague. Rockaria Electric Light Orchestra. Produced by Jeff Lynne. Album A New World Record. Rockaria Lyrics. Weit, oops. Well, we were reelin' and rockin' all through the night Yeah, we were rockin' at the opera house until the break of light And the orchestra was playin' all Chuck Berry's greatest tunes And the singers in the chorus all got off on them singin' blues And as the night grew older everybody was as one The people on the streets came. runnin' in to join in song Just to hearing the opera singers singing rock and roll so pure I thought I saw the mayor there but I wasn't really sure But it's alright.
