Album

The Köln Concert is a concert recording of solo piano improvisations performed by Keith Jarrett at the Opera House in Cologne German: Köln on January 24, 1975. The double-vinyl album was released in 1975 by ECM. It became the best-selling solo album in jazz history and the best-selling piano album with sales of more than 3. 5 million. The concert was organized by 17-year-old Vera Brandes, then Germany's youngest concert promoter. At Jarrett's request, Brandes had selected a Bösendorfer 290 Imperial. THE KÖLN CONCERT by Keith Jarrett was my favorite music in that time, my first & big love to improvised, free piano music & artistically expression. Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Keith Jarrett. My favourite Keith Jarrett's solo piano concert, followed by the Vienna Concert. Part 1 sounds awesome, silent, very emotional. Part 2A sounds very nice. Part 2B sounds very nice. Part 2C is a bit noisy - tried to wet clean it by hand but could not totally solve the issue. Ответить Уведомлять о новых ответах Helpful. Recorded in 1975 at the Köln Opera House and released the same year, this disc has, along with its revelatory music, some attendant cultural baggage that is unfair in one sense: Every pot-smoking and dazed and confused college kid - and a few of the more sophisticated ones in high school - owned this as one of the truly classic. He used the Concert to describe his emotions driving a carefully honed sports car in a way that made the music and drive come to life. Mel is always a good writer, but the poetry in this small column, was magical. This is how his story about the drive began. The Köln Concert wasnt Jarretts first or, indeed, last album of unaccompanied piano improvisations, but it remains his most significant and influential. Its doubtful whether US pianist Brad Mehldau also noted for his extemporised solo recitals would have made the records he did without falling under Jarretts spell. Forty-three years after the fact, The Köln Concert remains Keith Jarretts solo masterpiece and stands as the major highlight of both his and ECMs recorded output. Or consider a donation More Albums.
