Album

There Are But Four Small Faces is a studio album by British rock group Small Faces, released on 1 December 1967 through Columbia Records. It was the band's first album release in the United States, and acts as an alternative version for overseas release of the Immediate album Small Faces, which came out earlier the same year. There Are was issued around the same time as the group's single Tin Soldier. Small Faces: все альбомы, включая The Autumn Stone , Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake , There Are But Four Small Faces и другие. Designed for the American market in 1968, There Are But Four Small Faces is based upon their 1967 self-titled album for Immediate Records - the album that should not be confused with the 1966 album called Small Faces on Decca - but shuffles the running order considerably, cutting out seven songs from the 1967 LP and then adding five songs. A more recent CD version from Charly Records shows, that this US-only release is basically a great album with a set, that works even better than the Small Faces' european release from that period. But the mastering on this vinyl pressing is terrible. It's true stereo, but on most tracks the right channel is up to 6 dB lower than the left one. Which also has no treble, it sounds totally muddy. Because of this many of the instruments are too low in the mix, on Get yourself together the lead vocal on the right track is barely audible
