Notes

These recordings were made as a document of TG´s Desertshore Installation.
They are presented here unedited, in their original, naked, honest form (other than increasing the level of conversation, and reducing the level of sounds that might blow your speakers).
Everything you hear here, though not necessarily intentional, is part of the creative process. All clicks, hums, buzzes, distorsion etc. are an intrinsic part of the listening experience, which you share with the audience on that day.

THE DESERTSHORE INSTALLATION 12 CD WALLET

As you may have seen, TG will be presenting an Installation at London's ICA, on June 1-3, 2007 during which they will be recording the initial parts for a new album which is based on their interpretation of Nico's classic Desertshore album, which we hope after final production, to release in 2008.

These six two-hour sessions will be recorded in full on a Soundfield microphone, then a small number pressed onto 12 discs in cd-r format, the size of the edition being based largely on the number of pre-orders received.

The resulting set of 12 cd-rs, housed in a 12 page stamped cd wallet, will be available from this store only - a must for interested parties unable to attend in person, and for all serious collectors of TG Art.

Album

The 12-CDr set documents the recording sessions of the cover version of Nico's third studio album, Desertshore. These sessions were open to the public and a short question and answer session is included in the recordings. Each session lasted for approximately 2 hours and there were 2 sessions per day, an afternoon and an evening session. The box. The original plan was for TG to have their final, studio-perfected version of Desertshore officially out in 2008, but for various reasons the album has neither been completed nor released to date. The original Desertshore, released in 1970, has a fair claim to being called Nicos definitive masterpiece. Her third album, it was co-produced by John Cale and Joe Boyd Nico pictured above sang and played harmonium, with Cale handling the majority of other instruments. Throbbing Gristle.
